Summary: Very good camera
Comment: Very good camera. It performs as promised considering it's a "point & shot". Size is perfect and it slides without a problem into your pants pocket. Good image colors, very intuitive and easy to use menus (you really use the different options)and also with a SD with extra Gigs you have good video. With these videos and good pictures you have a nice material to use in software programs like Photoshop Elements or other popular programs. My only concern, I would like more optical zoom.

Summary: Great Little Camera
Comment: Bought this for someone else who loves taking photos (avid, somewhat advanced photographer)...she loves it, much more than the latest Casio she just returned. For a camera its size, it packs a lot of features and the resulting photos are very good...somewhat better than those from competing manufacturers at times. From photography reviews using direct comparison it seems that the CCD sensor is lower noise than others of its size. Optical stabilization surely helps as do the well-chosen auto settings...color quality, in particular is excellent. I've played with various manual settings in more complicated scenarios finding this compact camera to be unusually versatile! Movie quality is also good, but still using AVI (Motion JPEG) instead of MPEG4 it could be improved. I like to compare this camera/camcorder to the low-end (non-HD) Sanyo Xacti camcorder/cameras...sensor size is the same and price is similar: Here, the photos are often slightly better and the movies are generally not as good. For someone slanted toward photos rather than movies in a tiny (easily fits in pocket) handheld capable of doing both, this seems to be an excellent choice...perhaps the best of its class. I haven't tested the latest Panasonic competitor but just playing with both in the store my choice was clear!

Summary: great performer !!!
Comment: I had SD700IS for about a year until last month lost it during travel. It is great camera, great image quality, fast response. Base on that good experience I ordered SD800 without thinking. I'll have to say SD800 is severely flawed in its low light performance -- grainy, soft, dark.... to a point of unbearable to me since I use these point n' shoot cameras 80% indoor. Promptly returned it!

Then I scanned through reviews here on Amazon and on www.dpreview.com, seems SD850 is quite good. So I ordered from Amazon and got it today. Can't wait to test its low light performance and I'll have to say it beats my expectations -- fully exposed, brilliant AND natural color, tad sharp, smooth like silk. I am very happy with SD850.

Only thing SD850 lags behind SD700 seems the former takes a little longer between shots especially when using flash. But not so bad at all, it just SD700 is superb in this regard.

Highly recommended.

Summary: Best Value for Money
Comment: I really love this camera. It has almost all the features that we expect today as a casual photographer. I tried several night shots in Manhattan and they showed up very clear.
This model has an improved LCD display that projects more energy into the picture and so the picture looks very clear. The best part is "Digital Macro" feature that helps shoot the objects from 2CM to 50CM. I shot some flowers in my garden and they came awesome.
We tried Casio 10 mega pixel camera on the same subject with close up shot, but the picture quality of Canon is far more superior.
For anyone who is looking for a sleek camera which is fully packed with features, this is the best bet.

Summary: Great point & shoot camera
Comment: Great Image Stability feature. Takes great pictures, and amazingly it also makes good family video too. I'm less likely to bring my camcoder next time I travel.
